Former athlete and rugbyman,

He makes his starts in car competition at the occasion of the "Volant Shell" in 1968 (with Jacques Laffite).

With over 100 victories and several French Champion titles, Max mamers got many successes on circuit: Formule Renault, Sport Proto, SuperTourism as well as in hill climbs, Rallyecross, Ice Racing, etc...He also competed on the Dakar and Le Mans 24 Hours (7 participations: 1 with a GRAC and 6 with a WM Peugeot).

He is also creator and general manager of the Andros Trophee since 1990.
